[Class 99 (i)] A branch pipe connection to a main comprises a nipple having a screw-threaded upper part 3; an intermediate shoulder 5 and a plain spigot portion tapered wholly or in. part with an internal bead 8 at the inner end, the bead lying within the main when the nipple is driven\home on to its shoulder. The spigot may be tapered at 6 with an additional inner bevel 7. The part 8 is riveted over by a conical expanding tool which is driven inwards. Specification 236,308, [Class 99 (i)], is referred to.
