Abstract
507,024.. Diapers. SPANEL, A. N. Jan. 28, 1938, No. 2768. Convention date, March 23, 1937. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 12, 1938.] [Class 141] A seamless deposited rubber diaper cover 1 to be worn by a baby comprises a part 3 to contact with the back of the wearer, a part 4 of reduced width to be brought between the legs and a part 2 to cover the abdomen and is secured in position by tie strips 5, 6, 7, 8 formed integral therewith, substantially all the free edges of the cover and tie strips being strengthened by integral rubber reinforcements. A modification 14, Fig. 5, is of triangular shape provided at the corners with holes 16, 17, 18 to receive any suitable fastening means after the cover has been positioned on the wearer with the upper part round the waist and the lower part over the abdomen, snap fastener elements 22, 23 being secured in holes 20, 21 spaced apart along the sides to define leg openings. Another triangular cover 25, Fig. 9, has' holes and openings 30, 31 at the corners for fastening them together with a safety pin, tie strips 28, 29 defining the leg openings. A further triangular cover 35, Fig. 13, has similar holes and openings 36, 40 for fastening together with a safety-pin, but the leg openings are defined by means of strips 37 adapted to be passed through openings 39 and provided with holes 38 for securing them together with a safety-pin &c. Another modification 45, Fig. 18, has apertured strips 48 to engage openings 47 in the waist part 46 and other apertured strips 50 engaging side openings 52 to define the leg openings. Buttons and cooperating button holes may replace the snap fasteners and safety-pin securing means, Fig. 27 showing a method of attaching a twoholed button 75 to the end of the rubber strip 13 without stapling or stitching by passing the strip end through the holes 76 and forcing the hole 16 in the end of the strip 15 over the body of the button; Fig. 33 shows a similar method of fixing a button 85 having a metal eyelet 86.
