My invention relates to an'infants creeper, more particularly to an infants garment in the nature of overalls.

It is contemplated by my invention to provide a garment for infants and toddlers which is used protectively to cover the clothing of a young child who is beginningto crawl. .Ordinary overalls having foot openings do not adequately retain their position on the limbs of the infant and provide an obstacle to dressing and diapering the child.

Known to me are the efforts to provide the side seams or crotch seams with closures, such as zippers, to facilitate the dressing operation. Such devices include foot openings and require zippers employing separators at the terminal end, which, for a squirming child, is not an inconsiderable source of annoyance and inconvenience.

In accordance with my invention, it is an object thereof to provide a creeper or overall type of garment having a front and rear panel and side seams joined by closures for speedily performing the dressing operations upon infants and young children, the actuation of the closing operation being facilitated by the inclusion of a foot enclosure, eliminating the necessity for costly and difficultly operable separators in these fastening elements.

It is a further object of my invention to provide a creeper which assures a leg covering over the.

clothing so that the trouser legs are not displaced from the protective position, yet permitting facile and speedy dressing operations.

To attain these objects and such further objects as may appear herein or be hereinafter pointed out I make reference to the accompanying drawing forming a part hereof, in which- Figure 1 is a front three quarter perspective view illustrating creepers in accordance with my invention;

By this form of construction, the suspenders form a partial closure for the garment, the latter pulling against'the restraining action of the foot portion in holding the garment stretched over the body partially. This stretching serves to align the zippers on the side seams for quickly effecting the dressing or undressing operation, and without requiring separators to join the terminal portions of the stringers for the zippers.

Making reference to the drawing, I show a creeper or garment in the form of overalls having a front panel I0 and a rear panel II. The front panel includes sections l2 and 13 connected by the seam l4 running to the crotch [5. The front panel includes a pair of supporting tabs l6 having button holes [1, for purposes which will appear hereafter.

The rear panel ll includes sections 18 and I9 connected by the seam 20 which extends into the crotch 15, previously described. Suspender straps 22 are attached to the waistline 2| and have the terminal portions 23 formed with buttons 24. The straps are intended to be crossed over the shoulders in the well known way to engage the button holes H.

The sections [2, l3, l8 and I9 merge into trouser leg forming extensions 25, and terminate into foot covering enclosure portions 26. Side edges 21 and 28 on the rear and front panel, respectively, are

provided with stringers 21a, 28a, carrying separable fasteners or scoops which extend from the waistline portion 2| to just below the ankle at 29. A hem portion or tubular channel 30 is provided with an elastic 3|, constricting or shirring the ankle forming portion of the trouser leg at the ankle just above the end of the seam. The stringers 21a and 28a attached to the edges 2! and 28 and the separable fasteners thereon are coupled by the fixed stop at the edge 29, at which portion the slider 32 begins to interlock the scoops from below the ankle positionto the waistline position and forms the quickly detachable side seams 33 and 34.

To dress the infant, the sliders are shifted down to a position below the ankles, as shown in Figure 3. The leg portions then are uncovered and the foot of the child is inserted in the foot portions 26. In this position the front panel l0 and rear panel I I are held in position by the suspender or straps 22. The child is then partially dressed as the garment is stretched in position. The garment may be closed very easily with the zippers by drawing up the sliders along the legs. The resistance afforded by the anchoring effect of the foot forming portion 26 facilitates this closing action, especially with the suspenders holding the panels partially stretched and in align ment.

The initial interlocking of the scoops of the zippers is further facilitated as the slider is brought up 'abov'ethe elastic ankle portion afforded by the hem a0- and the elastic 3|.

Conversely, when speedy undressing is required, actuation of the sliders downwardly is not restrained as the garment is held stretched over. the infants legs by the suspension afforded by 15 opposite end of the garment bythe foot covering o the suspender straps and the engagement at the portions.

A creeper for infants including a front panel 2 portion, a-rear panel portion extending substantially from the waistline and terminating into leg covering sections, joined to each other at the crotch, closed foot covering portions for the ter- 4 minal portions of said leg covering sections, both side edges for each of said panels running from the waistline to below the ankle portion of said leg portions to adjacent the closed foot covering portions, separable fasteners joining both of the panel from the rear panel so that the leg covering portions are always attached to the wearer duringrelease of the front panel.
