Abstract

506,942. Closures for collapsable tubes &c. SMITH, H. March 9, 1938, No. 7345. [Class 125 (iii)] A closure for collapsable tubes and other containers 3 comprises an oblong bar or plate 1a, Figs. 3 and 4, carried transversely above the outlet orifice in combination with an outer elastic covering cap 4 adapted to be firmly attached in the stretched condition by its skirt and furnished with a normally closed slit or opening 4b. in line with the length of the bar 1a. The bar is formed as part of a collar 1 which may be made of resilient material to fit different sized nozzles. Alternatively the bar 1a forms part of the tube nozzle. It is bevelled at 1b to facilitate delivery of the contents of the tube. In a modification the cap 4 is retained by a threaded sleeve 5, Fig. 8.
