Abstract

506,765. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and'ROCHE, A. H. Dec. 3, 1937, No. 33557. [Class 40 (v)] The negative feedback applied to the grid of an amplifier is obtained from a tapping on a reactive potentiometer shunted across the feedback path and having an impedance large compared with the impedance presented to it by the feedback path. The Figure shows a bridge R0, R1, R2, R3 associated with the output and a resistance R4 across the feedback path in parallel with the control potentiometer comprising impedance Z and resistance R5. If the impedance presented by the output bridge to the feedback path is small compared with the impedance of the potentiometer the resistance R4 may be dispensed with. The control affects both gain and frequency and resistance R5 may be varied either manually or automatically.
