Abstract
503,178. Oil engines; valves ; cylinders. PORSCHE, F. Aug. 26, 1938, No. 25087. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1937. [Classes 7 (ii), 7 (iii), and 7 (vi)] In internal-combustion engines operating with liquid-fuel injection into the cylinders, inlet of air and exhaust are controlled by a piston 6 which is of smaller diameter than the working piston, the openings into the combustion chamber of the borings for the injection nozzle 12 and the ignition plug 13 are arranged in the same plane transverse to the cylinder axis. The combustion chamber 11 may be cylindrical and of the diameter of the control piston, or conical, as shown. The inlet and exhaust passages,14 are arranged at an inclination to facilitate the flow of gases.
