[Class 75 (iv)] A light-screening device suitable for use during air raids comprises a cylindrical screen d<1> arranged around the lamp reflector a to limit the spread of indirect light rays, parallel screens e welded at their angled upper edges to a flange d<2> on the cylindrical screen d<1>, and a cup-shaped screen g supported by the middle screens e and arranged to intercept direct rays from the lamp b. The device is secured to the reflector a with the screens e parallel to the window of the building by springs i connected to an open-ended ring k fitting over the upper portion c of the reflector. When the lamp is low or distant from the window the screens e may be omitted, the screen g then being supported by angle irons attached to the screen d<1>. The screen g may be polished internally and the screen d<1> may be coated dull black.
