[Class 92 (i)] The model-switch endangering-preventing apparatus according to the parent Specification is now modified by providing means whereby the amount of relative sliding movement of the elevating contacts e, f, of the model switch, produced by a given change in the relative trainings of the guns, is reduced with increase of the elevation of the endangered gun B. In the construction shown, the toothed sector f<3>, which carries the contact f, is mounted on a carriage m which is slidably mounted on a rod m<1> under the control of a spring n. Movements of the carriage are effected by a cam k, the shaft of which is geared to the motor Tb which repeats the training movements of the turret B. The cam k is tapered and is slidably mounted upon the shaft j, its position being controlled by a system of levers v, y, driven by a shaft f<2>. The latter is geared to a motor Eb which repeats the elevating movement of the turret B. The arrangement is such that when the guns of the turret B are highly elevated, the cam is so positioned by the motor Eb that it imparts a greater movement to the carriage m than when the guns are at a lower elevation. The other details of the switch are substantially the same as those of the switch described in the parent Specification. In a modification, the cam is replaced by a pivoted lever, one end of which is connected to the carriage m and the other end to a wheel geared to the motor Tb. The centre portion of the lever is slotted to receive a pin about which the lever pivots, and the pin is carried by a pivoted lever which is connected by links and gearing to the shaft of the motor Eb. Thus, when the motor Eb is driven the position of the pin is altered thereby varying the effect of the lever upon the carriage m.
