489,061. Making radiators. HEISS, P. June 5, 1937, No. 15651. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XIII] Soldering.-The flat tubes 1 and the fins 2 of an internal-combustion engine radiator core are made from cold-rolled steel strip having a thickness not exceeding 1À2 mm. and, preferably, of 0À1 mm. The tubes are threaded through the flanged apertures punched in the fins and the assembly, after being cleaned with a solution of zinc chloride, is immersed in a bath of zinc to seal the tube seams and the joints between the tubes and the fins.
