486,273. Cylinders. AUTO UNION AKT.-GES. Nov. 30, 1936, No. 32853. Convention date, Nov. 30, 1935. [Class 7 (ii)] In a two-stroke engine cylinder piston-controlled ports are all on one side, the inlet ports S<1>, S2, being (a) either between, or on both sides of the exhaust ports A<1>, A<2>, (b) inclined at more than 60‹ to a transverse plane, and (c) either parallel with, or inclined at an acute angle to, the plane B B. By these means the scavenging currents flow up the side of the cylinder containing the ports, across the head and down the opposite side as shown by the arrows. Specification 415,615 is referred to.
