482,863. Guiding motor vehicles. HIDER, G. T. Aug. 13, 1937, No. 22334. [Class 79 (v)] [Also in Groups I and XXXVI] An electrically driven agricultural tractor 6 is supplied with power through cables 20, and is constrained to travel in a spiral path about a post 1 by the winding of these cables on or off insulated drums 4 fixed to the top of the post and connected with a power supply. The drums 4 have screw threads on their peripheries for accommodating the cables, and collars 9 carrying pulleys 13 and 14 for guiding the cables work on the threads. In a modification, a guide loop is used in place of the outer pulleys 14. In the case of an engine driven tractor, a single drum and cable only are used.
