Abstract
482,661. Knitting. NEBEL, M. Oct. 1, 1936, No. 26703. [Class 74 (ii)] A method of knitting loop-plush fabric on circular machines is characterized in that the ground fabric loops of the portion of the fabric worked with plush loops are sunk to a higher position (2a) or a lower posi. tion (2c) of the sink. ing point relative to the needle head, than in that portion of the fabric worked without plush loops, while the sinking point 3 for the plush thread remains always at the same height relative to the needle. A machine for carrying out the above method is provided with plush sinkers having a sinking edge 2 for the ground thread stepped as at 2a, 2b, Fig. 2, or 2c, 2b, Fig. 4, the sinkers being advanced in such a way that the ground thread is worked either from the edge 2a or 2c when plush loops are also being formed, but the ground thread is worked from the edge 2b, in each case, when the portion of the fabric without plush loops is being worked.
