Abstract

471,885. Rotary pumps. MURRAY, H. S. Dec. 13,1935, No. 17119. [Class 110 (ii)] A rotary pump for concrete comprises impellers 7 hinged to a rotor comprising two discs 21 with a centre part which forms the inner wall of the working-chamber. A fixed cam 12 is secured to a stationary shaft 11 and bears on the backs of the impellers during their movement from an inlet 3 to a delivery pipe 9. A hinged yieldable portion 4 is provided in case of blockage or foreign material entering the chamber 2. The cam is cut away near the pump outlet to permit the impellers to drop inside, due to gravity. A hinged sealing abutment 27, between the delivery and inlet ports, also acts as a scraper for the rotor. The latter is driven by pinions 23, on a shaft 24, which mesh with teeth 22. A renewable plate 8 is attached to each impeller.
