Abstract
471,318. Electrical treatment of beer. PERCIVAL, S. (Zimmerer Manufacturing Co., Inc., K. A.) March 30, 1937, No. 9055. [Class 41] In apparatus comprising beer-dispensing means connected by pipes to a storage vessel, the pipes are provided with a section in which a current is passed through the beer to prevent settling of sediment on the walls of the pipes. The pipe-section 5 is provided with an insulating liner 6 in which are fitted a tubular electrode 15 connected to the outer wall 5 and a tubular electrode 7, preferably of silver, insulated therefrom. In a modification, both electrodes are mounted in the end zones of the tubes. In the apparatus shown in Fig. 5, the tubular electrodes are provided with diametral walls 30, 31. The electrodes may be automatically connected in circuit at timed intervals.
