466,822. Supply systems for welding- arcs. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 18, 1935, No. 35136. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1934. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XI] Circuit is supplied in varying proportions through two parallel paths to the movable electrode 10 of welding apparatus in which the electrode is moved lengthwise of the work 11. One of the supply leads is connected to the movable electrode and the other to a contact 15 which moves with the electrode 10 over a resistance 17, the ends of which are connected to the ends of the work, thus avoiding disturbing magnetic effects on the arc.
