Abstract

465,256. Ball and roller bearings. McDONALD, L. B., and TIATUCKA, Ltd. Nov. 28, 1936, No. 32652. [Class 12 (i)] A ball or roller bearing plummer block or hanger, of the kind in which the bearing is located in a one piece housing 1 by. pads 4, 5, engaging the bearing circumference at spaced positions, includes a sleeve fitting tightly into the bore in the inner race ring 3, the sleeve having a collar 8, two integral sleeve portions 6, 7, of different diameters, and a bore of such diameter that it is slidable along the shaft, means such as a set screw 9 being provided to fix it in position. The bore of the race ring 3 and the outer surface of the sleeve portion 6 may be conical. In a modification a separate sleeve portion 14, Fig. 8, is arranged between the sleeve 6 and the bearing. Specification 465,935 is referred to.
