Abstract

464,745. Wrenches. TORBERT, J. E. Sept. 14, 1936, No. 25044. [Class 61 (iii)] A wrench comprises a stem 1 with a ballcatch 4 at the end adapted to retain a nut socket 5 and a bent portion 6 to which is pivoted at 18 a handle 22 with spring catch 16 coacting with notches 10 on the enlarged end of the stem to retain the handle in the position shown for rapid rotation of a nut or in the dotted line position for obtaining increased power on the nut. The handle is mounted on a member 13 having a stem 14 secured by a screw 24 to an inner sleeve 20 within the handle and the grip part of the handle is closed by an end plug 25. A ratchet connection may be provided between the cranked part 6 and the stem 1.
