Abstract

359,716. Screwdrivers. CLARKE, E. W., Dacre House, Victoria Street, London. Oct. 25, 1930, Nos. 32106, 32107, and 35658. [Class 61 (iii).] A screw holding screwdriver has the shank formed of two parts 1, 2 pivoted together scissors fashion at 3 and having the free ends 4, 5 ground to wedge shape as shown in Fig. 9 so as to slide over one another and grip inside the slot 6 in the screw 7 when the two shank members are closed. In a modification, Fig. 4, the shank members 1, 2 are formed integral with and held sprung apart by the handle 8 and closed by a sliding sleeve 15.
