Abstract

456,639. Spanners; screwdrivers. BULL, L. G. H., Highclere, Kingsworthy, Winchester. May 13, 1936, No. 13545. [Class 61 (iii)] A screwdriver, spanner, &c., for use on screws &c. in inaccessible places comprises a curved tubular member 2, a screwdriver bit &c. 4, rotatably mounted in one end of the tubular member, a rigid driving member 9 with handle 10 mounted in the stem 1 of the tubular member and a flexible shaft 7 connecting the driving member and tool bit. A handle 11 of synthetic resin is moulded on the end of the tubular stem 1 which is formed with holes or recesses 12 to key the material thereto. The screwdriver bit 4, Fig. 2, has a flange 5 and a square part 13 below the blade 15 adapting it to receive spanner sockets and the screwdriver blade may be magnetized or provided with a screw holding spring clip.
