Abstract

463,208. Centrifugal pumps. DRYSDALE & CO., Ltd., and DRYSDALE, J. W. W. Dec. 2, 1935, No. 33303. [Class 110 (i)] In a machine for pumping liquid and air or gas separately and simultaneously and comprising a centrifugal impeller k and a liquid-ring rotor l mounted on the same shaft m and within a common split casing a, b as in Specification 448,450, the rotor l is fed from a stand-pipe q within an airseparator p mounted on the casing b and leading to the impeller k, the lower half a of the casing carrying the mixture inlet c, the air outlet d and water outlet e. A partition f separates the inlet g of the impeller k from the inlet i of the rotor l. A vacuum breaker may be fitted at p<1> to the top of the separator p. The machine is applicable to suction filters and to paper-making machines.
