Abstract

461,933. Roller - way conveyers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and WALLIS, A. S. Dec. 9, 1935, No. 34093. [Class 78 (i)] In roller conveyer systems in which rollers are provided with a motor at one or both ends to rotate the rollers and so convey the goods, the rollers are mounted in self-aligning bearings.. Fig. 1 shows bearing blocks 3, 4 swivelling in horns 9, 10 pivoted by pins 12 in frames 7, 8. The stator 5 of the motor is rigidly attached to the block 3, and the rotor is mounted on an extension of the roller shaft 2. The motor may, however, be disposed between the roller 1 and the bearing. Fig. 4 shows a modified form of bearing in which universal movement is obtained by mounting the bearing 16 in a part ball resting in a part spherical pocket 15, a pin 17 on the ball projecting into a larger opening in the bracket 14 to limit the play of the ball.
