[Classes 79 (ii), 79 (iii), and 79 (iv)] In a motor vehicle of the kind having a central longitudinal main chassis member, the engine is offset to one side thereof, the driver's seat being located on the other side. In the vehicle shown, the main tubular chassis frame member A carries the front axle B, the rear axle C being carried by a sleeve A<1> rotatable on the member A so as to allow relative rocking on uneven ground. One or both pairs of wheels may be steerable and driven. The vehicle body may be in front and rear portions N, P. On the front portion, the engine J is mounted on brackets K, the gear-box D at the front or rear thereof being connected by a spherical joint E to a transverse final drive gear casing D containing spur or chain gearing, with or without a differential, and driving either the axle B or both front and rear axles. On the opposite side to the engine is the seat M. Specification 394,554 is referred to.
