Abstract

Convention dates, May 10, 1935 and Oct. 10, 1935. [Class 83 (iv)] [See also Group XVII] A cylindrical box 10, Fig. 4, for provisions and medical products such as tea, granulated products, tablets, &c. or for fumic purposes is made of cardboard, paper, metal (e.g. aluminium) or other sheet material which may be rolled to one or more thicknesses, has a coned mouth 11, and is provided with two similar metal lids 12, 15 having apertures 13, 16 which can be brought into register by rotating the outer lid 15, ribs 14, 17 engaging both in the open and in the closed position; rubber &c. packing 18 is positioned in corrugation 17. A transparent paper diaphragm 19 coated at the edge with rubber or gum ensures a hermetic joint. In the alternative shown in Fig. 2, a strengthening corrugation 6 acts as a stop to position the parts in closed configuration. Sealing may be effected by pasting a slip of paper between the two lids ; the paper serving also in some cases as a joint-making packing.
