Abstract

458,523. Vehicle bodies and opening- tops. PRESSED STEEL CO., Ltd., Cowley, and CLAY, W. H., Woodstock Close, both in Oxford. Sept. 20,1935, No. 26082. [Class 108 (i)] In a vehicle body preferably constructed of sheet metal the rear or tonneau panel is extended forwardly to constitute the major portion of the roof. As shown applied to a sheet metal body having a roof opening closable by a sliding panel the body comprises side panels 11, roof header panel 14, cowl panel 13 and a rear panel 12 which is extended forwardly to the rear 16 of the roof opening being welded to the side panels 11 along the lines 18. The sides of the roof opening are provided with drain channels 28 which are extended and attached under the rear panel 12 sealing means 30 carried by a channel member 31 being provided.
