Abstract
457,491. Oil engines. RICARDO, H. R., 21, Suffolk Street, Westminster. May 30, 1935, No. 15794. [Class 7 (iii)] A combustion chamber is formed by recesses D3, E<1> in a conical plug D and in a cap E, and communicates with the cylinder through a passage D2. The plug is spaced from a conical passage C in the cylinder head in which it is held against rotation, and the cap is pressed against a flange D<1> on the plug either by bolts E<4> or by a member bearing on the cap and screwing into the head. A fuel injector G<1> and a heating plug H<1> are carried by the cap which may be water- or air-cooled. Specifications 371,025 and 439,426 are referred to.
