[Class 138 (i)] A windscreen-cleaner arm is in two sections, an inner section adapted to be connected to an actuating shaft, and an outer section connectable to a wiper and slidably adjustable with respect to the inner section, the arms being secured together by resilient means which also acts to hold resiliently the inner section in engagement with the actuating shaft. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the wiper arm comprises two sections 5, 6, the inner section, which is of channel form, being pivotally mounted on the oscillatory shaft 1. The shaft is apertured to receive the end of a rod 10 upon which is mounted a spring 9. The spring is held under compression between a member 9<a> and a holding member 18 which is pivotally mounted in the section 5, and is adapted to press the arm section 6 against the side of a groove in the section 5. The inner end of the section 6 is formed into a key fitting in a keyway in the section 5. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, the holding member 18<1>, of sheet metal, is mounted by trunnions in bearings 21<1> and is bifurcated to engage the section 6. In a further construction shown in Fig. 7, the holding member 18<11> is slidably mounted on the rod 10 carrying the spring 9, and is adapted to be wedged between the section 6<11> and an inclined part 21<11> of the section 5<11>.
