451,753. Crank - shafts. BUGATTI, E., Molsheim, Bas-Rhin, France. Jan. 8, 1936, No. 695. Convention date, Jan. 9, 1935. [Class 80 (ii)] The web 3 of a built-up crankshaft has two adjacent housings adapted to accommodate two crank-pins 8, 9, or one pin and a journal, whose axes are spaced apart. The common assembling pin 10 is formed with flats for co-operating with flats on the crank - pins or journal. The flats may be parallel to the axes, or inclined as shown, in which latter case the ends of the crank-pins are reduced. If the required distance between the axes is less than the sum of the radii of the pins the ends of the latter are cut away. A plurality of locking pins may be used on the same web.
