450,062. Fastenings ; securing furniture to floors &c. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP IJZERHANDEL I. M. DE VRIES, and VRIES, A. DE, 6, Rokin, Amsterdam. Aug. 21, 1935, No. 23526. [Class 44] [See also Group XIV] A fastening device, applicable generally to securing a rod or tube to a flat surface, but described as applied to securing the leg 2 of a table &c. to a ship's deck 1 comprises a pair of pivoted jaws 5 with offset projections 6 adapted to be swung into engagement with recesses 10 formed in plates 8 let into the leg 2 on opposite sides thereof, the jaws being held in engagement by a sliding sleeve 11 mounted on the leg and moved into place to embrace the jaws. The jaws are relatively offset laterally so that when out of use they fold down side-by-side flush with the deck, from which position they may bo raised by a pointed instrument inserted in an aperture 12 in tho jaw. The jaws are mounted in a plate 3 let into the deck.
