Abstract
448,665. Shears. PORTER, Inc., H. K., 6, Ashland Street, Everett, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Porter,. H. W. ; 158, Willard Road, Brookline, and Geddes, J. W. ; 22, Center Street, Watertown, both in Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Oct. 14, 1935, No. 28337. Convention date, April 11. [Class 30] The cutting edges are curved as shown so that the gap between them is always continuously wider in the outward direction and in the position shown of the same circle. During closing the angle of intersection of the edges is substantially constant. The edge 173 is thinner than the edge 193 and has greater penetrating power. The shape in section of the blades passing from base to tip changes as shown in Figs. 7-9. A lug 25 on one of the blade levers, 13 in the form shown, prevents distortion of the edges. The device is intended for pruning and like purposes.
