Abstract
447,719. Folding perambulators. ALLEN, J. G., Southacre, Victoria Avenue, Quinton, Birmingham. Sept. 18, 1935, No. 25859. [Class 108 (i)] In perambulators of the type in which an upper frame is adapted to be collapsed on to a lower or chassis frame and is normally held up by two struts at each side, the struts being locked by means of a lever having a notch to engage a pin &c. on the chassis the lever H is provided with a notch h<1> on its upper edge and is extended beyond its pivot g on the strut G, the extension h being provided with a spring K whereby the notch j<1> normally engages a pin h<1> formed in a guide j forming part of the standard J. The levers H at each side are connected by, or formed in one with, a yoke M, downward pressure on which releases the levers H allowing the struts G to be pulled downwardly by the springs K. A second notch h<2> on the lever adapted to engage a second pin j<2> is provided for use in case the spring K is broken or disconnected.
