[Class 94 (i)] In a combined preliminary and finishing press, the finishing press is provided with supplementary lashing-plates 8 of large size for the introduction of bales which have been roughly pressed elsewhere. As shown, two supplementary lashing-plates 8 are carried by a frame 6 revoluble on the outer column 4 of the finishing press, so that while one lashing-plate is in the pressing position the other is in the loading position. Different sized bales are positioned on the lashing- plates between a pair of adjustable brackets 9, which may have bevelled edges and may be arranged to give as the bale is pressed..
