Abstract

444,516. Valves. BOWLER, T., 396, Windsor Road East, North Vancouver, Canada. April 24, 1935, No. 12381. [Class 135] A valve with a ball closure rotated by the fluid has a ball retainer with a plurality of claws 15, Fig. 1, forming a recess 20 and connected at their lower ends by a band 16 which wipes the ball 17 below its centre as it rotates, preventing the deposition of scale particles. A floating member 18 with dished faces is interposed between the convex end 12 of the stem and the top of the ball so that the ball will be thrust firmly on its seat 8 as indicated in Fig. 4, even if the stem is out of alignment.
