Abstract

444,255. Marking meat. HILDICK, A., 11, St. James's Road, Hampton Hill, Middlesex. Sept. 17, 1934, No. 26695. [Class 100 (ii)] Roller hand-stamps ; inking apparatus.-A device for brand - marking animal car cases &c. comprises a mark ing - roller 6 provided with spikes 8 for printing charac ters &c., an inking-roller 17 and an ink-reservoir external to the rollers and connected by a conduit to the interior of the inking-roller. Preferably the handle 21 of a fork-shaped frame 2 carrying the rollers 6, 17 constitutes the inkreservoir, a pipe 20 connecting the reservoir to a hollow spindle 18 carrying the roller 17 which consists of a perforated drum covered with absorbent material. A tap 24 is provided for regulating the supply of ink and a bleed valve 22 for admitting air to the reservoir. The roller 17 is mounted on a U-shaped frame 11 slidable on the frame 2 and pressed towards the roller 6 by a spring 15.
