[Class 100 (ii).] A stamping device comprises two telescopically arranged shells containing an ink reservoir, a wick associated therewith, and an inking roller adapted to convey ink from the wick to a changeable stamp during relative movement of the shells. The ink reservoir 2 is secured to the base or to a side wall of the outer shell 1, a securing screw 3 serving to close the filling aperture, and is provided with a slot 4 through which ink passes to the wick 5 which is of the same width as the stamp to be inked. An inking roller 6 is inked by the wick when the inner shell 8 is forced inside the outer shell 1 against the action of springs 9, whereby the stamp 13 is brought into the opening 10 of the inner shell. The inking roller is mounted on two separate resilient arms 14, which are supported in bearings 18 under the action of springs 7. The stamps are interchangeable, and in the form shown, the stamp 13 is mounted in a spring sheath 11 secured to the reservoir 2 and provided with a pin 12 which registers with a corresponding recess in the stamp block. Alternatively, the stamps may be carried by the sides of a polygonal block, rotatably mounted in bearings on the reservoir and held in adjusted position by means of a leaf spring or a pawl and ratchet ; in a further form, the stamps are secured adjacent the reservoir on endless rubber bands running over rollers, one of which can be rotated.
