443,806. Fence posts. GREENE, C., San Diego, California, U.S.A. Feb. 23, 1935, No. 5889. [Class 45] A fence or like post 1 driven into the ground is secured by one or more anchoring bars 3 formed of strip metal twisted helically and guided in opposed slots 4 in a bracket 5 on the post. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the bars 3 are guided in opposite slots formed in a tubular post. The pitch of the twist in the bars 3 may alter near the upper end so that the bars when driven home are gripped in the slots. The cross-section of the bars 3 may be curved or rectangular, Figs. 5, 6.
