Abstract

442,188. Dish - washing machines. LUTOLF, G., and LUTOLF, T., 26, Maihofstrasse, Lucerne, Switzerland. April 2, 1935, No. 10183. Convention date, April 2, 1934. [Class 138 (i)] A device for washing up crockery first sprays the plates &c. with hot soap lye and then with clean boiling water through the same jets by the operation of a multiple way valve 14. Crockery is placed in a perforated container 6. A lid 51 is removed and containers 11, &c. are filled with soapy water and hot boiling water respectively. A hand wheel 23 is set to operate a chain 21 in connection with a shaft 17 on which is a starter 16. This switches on current to a motor 56 connected to a pump 36. Lye is drawn from the container 11 by a pipe 35 through a channel 33 of the multiple valve 14 thence through a pipe 37 by a channel 38 to a conduit 40 to jets 43 and through a branch conduit 45 to jets 50. The cross pipes 42, 49 rotate in known manner to spray the plates &c. The lye collects above a partition 5 and passes through a valve 63 opened by a cam 19 to a pipe 65 into a filter 27 and back into the container 11. When the plates are clean the hand wheel 23 is rotated 60‹. This stops the motor. The valve 63 is closed by the cam 19 and a valve 63<1> is opened by a cam 18. Consequently in this new position of the multiple valve the following occur. The pump draws hot fresh water from a second container behind the container 11 by the pipe 35 through the passage 33 and conduit 61 thence through the delivery pipe 37, passage 38 by another conduit to the conduit 40 and so to the jets. After this water has sprayed the plates and cleaned off the fatty substances arising from the lye spraying, the same collects above the steel partition 5 and arrives in the large container 13 through the open valve 63<1> and pipe 62. When the water in the container 12 is used, which would be indicated by a float, the hand wheel 23 is again rotated 60‹ whereby the motor is again switched off. If it be desired to empty the whole device, the hand wheel is rotated another 60‹ whereupon the motor restarts, the suction pipe 35 draws the lye out of the container 11 by the channel 33, pipe 32<1> and draws the water from the container 13 if the valve 75 is opened. The delivery pipe 37 of the pump forces this liquid through the valve channel 38 into the pipe 70 whereupon the same can be caught and lead farther at 71. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 238,313, 255,396, and 290,285, [all in Class 138 (i)].
