Addition to 436,074. [Classes 21 and 125 (iii)] [See also Group XXIX] In a valve for containers such as hot-water bottles, wherein a rubber tube folds on itself at a weakened point for sealing as in the parent Specification, a stem 15 is provided at the outer end of the tube 1, outside the flexible connecting-diaphragm 2, and inlets 13 are formed at the base of the stem so that liquid filled into the neck 8 may, when the stem is drawn up to open the fold 11, pass into the container by the holes 12. An air tube 14 is also unfolded on drawing out the stem, to allow escape of air in filling. The ring 3 carrying the device may be integral with the container, or may be grooved to receive an internal metal ring 4, and a beading 5 on the container, being clamped by a metal ring 7. In a modification, the stem 15 is formed by a plug in the tube 1. Specification 436,125 also is referred to.
