[Class 7 (iii)] To prevent excessive cool ing of a fuel - injectior valve, the injection nozzle 4 is surrounded by a cap 5 having passages 8 for a cooling medium, and an air space is provided betweer the cap 5 and a valve housing 3. The passages 8 may be lined with material of poor heat conductivity. In modified constructions, (1) the injector body 2 is formed by two parts separated by an air space, the outer part containing the passages through which the cooling- medium is circulated, and (2) the passages 8 in the body 2 are formed by tubes passing through sealed air spaces.
