438,483. Illuminating transparencies. NIGON, G. L., 91<bis>, Rue Truffaut, Paris. Feb. 21, 1935, No. 5658. Convention date, Feb. 21, 1934. [Class 3 (ii)] [See also Group XX] A glass plate 11 of which the underside 12 is frosted is illuminated by four electric lamps or neon tubes 8 provided with cylindrical casings 6 having flanges 7 engaging the edges of the plate. In each casing 6 is a reflector 9 and a colour filter 10 transmitting light of wavelengths of the order of À561 microns. In a modification, light is directed on to the bevelled edges of the plate by mirrors from a lamp disposed centrally below the plate, shields being interposed to prevent direct illumination.
