Convention date, Dec. 11, 1933. [Class 69 (ii)] [See also Group XXXI] In a vehicle drive, there is provided for each direction of travel, a turbo-gear unit with at least two circuits, which may be torque converters only or a torque converter and a coupling. Speed-increasing gearing between the engine and the gears, and reducing gearing between the gears and the vehicle axles, may be provided, and the gearing may be in a common casing. The engine shaft may be parallel or perpendicular to the vehicle axle, and in both cases the turbo gears may be parallel or perpendicular to the engine shaft. E<1>, E<2> represent the turbo-gear units in the examples of layouts shown in Figs. 4, 6 and 8.
