434,665. Diaphragm valves. SAUNDERS INVENTIONS, Ltd., 98, Beresford House, Main Street, Johannesburg, South Africa, and SAUNDERS, P. K., 5, Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton. March 6, 1934, No. 7089. [Class 135] In a diaphragm valve, the diaphragm is reinforced by an intermediate sheet of material 13 and has a central boss 15 by which it is attached by means of a stud 19 to a screw-actuated compressor - member 14, the head 18 of the stud being embedded in the diaphragm on the side of the sheet 13 remote from the member 14. The diaphragm is made of rubber with a fabric sheet 13 embedded in it, the sheet 13 being stepped or bent into the boss 15 as shown. To prevent relative rotation between the stud 19 and the diaphragm, the head 18 is formed of non-circular shape or with holes to receive the rubber.
