Abstract
433,057. Knitting-machines. LEEDHAM, L. H., and WILDT & CO., Ltd., Adelaide Works, Leicester. Feb. 8, 1934, Nos. 4240 and 13005. [Class 74 (ii)] Jacquard mechanism for controlling the needles &c. of a knitting-machine comprises a series of selector bars 20, 21 each of which is provided with a pivoted feeler element 22. The feeler may be mounted between two pressed out portions 27, 28 of the selector, as shown in Fig. 1, or between the associated selector and a cover plate 38, Fig. 8, welded or otherwise secured thereto, an abutment 29 or 129, limiting the movement of the feeler towards the platen 16 under the action of a spring 24. The feeler plate or the selector may be formed with a slot, such as 31, to receive a pivot pin 30 supported in the other element. Adjacent selectors have those portions in which cramping occurs disposed at different levels, as shown in Fig. 1, the upper bars 21 terminating in a head 35 which, at its extremity, registers with the extremity of an adjacent selector.
