Abstract

432,024. Supplying liquid fuel. HENSCHEL & SOHN AKT.- GES., 2, Henschelstrasse, Cassel, Germany. Dec. 15, 1933, No. 35402. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1932. [Class 7 (iii)] [See also Group XXVIII] Overflow devices, operated by the fuel pressure and used only during the full - load range of the engine are provided to reduce the quantity of fuel injected as the engine speed increases, to compensate for the reduced amount of air admitted to the cylinder and produce a constant fuel-air ratio. The overflow devices are mounted on the pump, in the conduit between the pump and injector, or in the injector, and comprise spring-loaded valves 6<1> which open overflow conduits 5<1> in succession. One or more throttling-devices, which return a portion of the fuel to the pump at the end of the delivery stroke and are formed by spring-controlled plungers 9, may be mounted with a small clearance within the conduit 10<1>. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also states that the plunger 9 may be formed integral with the pump delivery valve. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
