Abstract

812,214. Starting. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A. G. Jan. 1, 1957 [April 6, 1956], No. 1/57. Class 7(5) In starting means for an injection type internal combustion engine, more especially a diesel engine, a fuel pump piston guide sleeve, mounted for reciprocation, with the fuel pump piston 3, is arranged to form the distributing slide valve for controlling the pneumatically operated starting air valve. Thus an annular groove 7 controls the supply of control air from a pipe 10 to a piston which opens the starting air valve so that starting air is supplied to the associated cylinders of the engine. The guide sleeve and pump piston may be actuated through a roller with a plunger guideway.
