[Classes 18 and 66] A wedge - shaped carton of rectangular transverse cross section has a recessed base formed by extensions 10, 10<a>, 10<b>, to the side walls of the body, one extension 10<b> covering the entire base area and being provided with flaps 13<a> which comprise the side walls of the recessed base. The sides 7 are constituted by right-angled triangles and the top edges of the flaps 8, 9 constituting the two rectangular sides are extended so that the top of the carton can be rolled. The recessed base is formed from three flaps 10 of similar shape and flaps 10<a>, 10<b> whose area is equal to that of the entire base, and the flap 10<b> is folded outside the other flaps, so that the extensions 13<a> thereon overlie the turned-up portions 13 on the other flaps. Proofing or waxing of the carton is effected before or after the blank is made up, and the wax may be used as the means to secure together the various parts of the blank.
