Abstract
430,879. Mudguards. DUBONNET, A., 114, Boulevard Maurice, BarrÞs, Neuilly-sur- Seine, France. Nov. 10, 1934, No. 32466. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1933. [Class 136 (i)] In mudguards for the steering-wheels of motor &c. vehicles of the type wherein each wheel is carried by an arm a pivoted under spring control in a casing or frame b adapted to turn about an approximately vertical axis A for steering, the major part of the outside of the wheel is covered by a plate d which is connected, as by supports i, to the casing b so as to turn therewith, the arrangement being such that when the wheel is in the straightsteering position, the plate d and the peripheral mudguard f form a continuous flat casing of substantially streamline form. The plate d is of segmental form to fit in a corresponding aperture in the guard f, its lower edge being straight or slightly curved so as to be co-linear with the lower edge of the guard f. Flanges g, h on the edges of the parts d, f respectively prevent air being forced into the casing, except when the wheel is turned through a large angle. The depth of these flanges is less towards the top, as indicated by the dotted line M N P. To facilitate access to the wheel, the plate d is detachable from the supports i.
