[Class 109] [See also Group XXXVI] A stranded cable is secured to an element 10 by laying the strands in grooves in the threaded end of the element and clamping them by a nut 18, the end of the element and the co-operating cavity in the nut being tapered as shown at 12<a> to prevent a straight line pull on the strands.
