Abstract

426,415. Pipe supports. MACKENZIE, I., and MACKENZIE & MONCUR, Ltd., Balcarres Street, Edinburgh. Oct. 26, 1933, No. 29657. [Class 99 (ii)] A hot-water &c. pipe is supported on a wall bracket &c. by a cradle 6 which is movable with the pipe over a stationary bed 12 fixed to said wall bracket and provided with end flanges 13, a roller or rollers 11, free to move in the longitudinal direction of the pipe, being interposed as shown between the base 9 of the cradle and the upper surface of the bed. The cradle is preferably a short I-section member provided with transverse strengthening webs 8, the upper flange or saddle 5 having. a pipe-receiving groove or recess 7 and pipe-securing U-bolts 4 and the lower flange constituting the base 9, and it is of such depth that the base will protrude from any non-conducting covering subsequently applied to the pipe. The roller may be provided with end flanges 14 to prevent axial movement thereof; alternatively it is adapted to roll in elongated slots formed in side flanges on the bed plate.
