Abstract

426,396. Valve generating circuits. RYALL, L. E., 52, Crescent Gardens, Eastcote, Middlesex. Aug. 28, 1933, No. 23820. [Class 40 (v)] The output of a back-coupled oscillator 12 is rendered independent of load conditions and variations in supply voltage by employing a voltage limiting device 3, of the type which limits equally both half-waves of the oscillation, connected across the transformer 4, from the output side of which the feed-back and output voltages are derived. The limiter may be a gas discharge tube or a combination of dry contact rectifiers, the resistance 15 being provided if the limiter has a negative impedance on flashing over. The arrangement of Fig. 3 is suitable for reintroducing the carrier in carrier suppression systems, the signal to be demodulated being injected at 19, 20, two discharge tubes 23, 24 being series-connected across the transformer 4. The feed back circuit is the same as in Fig. 1, and the arrangement is thus a demodulator system.
