Abstract

The properties of the alloys described in the parent Specification are improved by the addition of 0,02-2 per cent of manganese or of manganese together with one or more of the metals chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium, at least half of such additions being manganese. The alloys may be heated at about 520 DEG C. for about half an hour, quenched, and aged either naturally or by heating at about 160 DEG C. for about 6 hours; or they may be treated as described in Specification 382,422 or 390,244.
